Hey Dan....if you wear underwear long enough to be "a beacon for fungus and other microbial monsters" maybe you should change your undies every couple of weeks. Believe it or not, I change mine EVERY day. Yeah, sounds elitist I know but I'm not a troglodyte. Honestly, be safe while you're out there running.....hope you know I was being jocular. The best.

Heh, Florida doesn't have air in the summer, it has soup. The air lacks the capacity to absorb more water. :) I can only speak as a runner. Importance is placed on wicking moisture away from your skin while also being breathable enough to allow air to circulate between the two sides of the fabric. Cotton holds moisture, becomes a beacon for fungus and other microbial monsters. And the chafing....not good.
