Just received mine, and I don't think it's from Horween. I have the "Guarded Goods Shell Cordovan Watch Strap" (also from Massdrop) and it's pretty different. The GG one is softer / more pliable, and the underside (the part touching your wrist) is smoother and more finished. It's like GG is nubuck (but smoother) & JF is rough out leather (on the inside. the outside is pretty similar). In terms of overall quality, I'm not impressed, but I'm not "unsatisfied" either: *The lug ends are mismatched - buckle side (12 o'clock end) is maybe 20.5mm, and the adjustment side (6 o'clock end) is 21.5. I ordered a 21 and put it on a 22 watch just to confirm: one side has a lot of obvious side-to-side play and the other is almost snug. *The glue on the buckle/lug side is gone already and it can flap around. it's fine on the 6 o'clock strap. Not even one day of wear.
The strap does narrow from lug-end to end, presumably so that they can use the same hardware for different strap widths. Not an issue per se, but something to note.
If Guarded Goods does a two-part strap, i think i'll go in with that instead of this. Again, not a bad strap, but not great.
