Why does it come with so much "non-embroidery" thread? The machine could be priced $50-$75 less if that wasn't included? Are there any quilters in the house??????????

WintersewistAgreed! Shouldn’t this come with embroidery thread? Seems odd.

WintersewistMany embroiderers are now using Aurifil 50 wt as embroidery thread. That maybe why it is included in the drop.

wendiesrMany????? There are good reasons to use polyester or rayon over cotton. Sure there will always be those who don't care, but they are few. I am in many groups where people embroider and I have not heard any talk of using cotton....at all. My guess is that the person who set up this drop knows nothing about embroidery.

WintersewistThose who follow Sara Vedeler, Meaning of Life Designs by Sara Vedeler, know that she uses Aurifil exclusively for her piecing, embroidered applique and quilting. Her designs are beautiful. See her website here, https://meaningoflifedesigns.com/. Yuou can also see here discussion on thread on here YouTube page. It could be that the person who set up the drop is a fan of Sara. Even if you didn't use the thread for embroidery, Aurifil is wonderful thread to use.

wendiesrI also use mostly Aurifil for piecing and quilting, as do MANY others . it IS wonderful thread, but the machine in this drop is embroidery ONLY. I feel sure that the person who arranged this drop is in sales, not quilting, sewing or any needle work at all. IMHO, Massdrop is an Internet store with long delivery times. Is it a Community of quilters"???? I don't think so.

WintersewistThey are going to end up with a lot of unhappy new users who are using the wrong thread because it "came with the machine". I don't understand this either.

gcherryHi gchery, We have changed the thread option on this drop so that is more appropriate for embroidery machines per Wintersewist's comment.
