Dont have a preamp with balanced inputs, so getting these to be able to feed straight from Pono player to balanced input. Interesting to see if they can resolve any difference in balanced vs single-ended.

I ran my pair on unbalanced inputs for a bit while some balanced cables were on the way from Amazon and I wouldn't recommend it. It was only a 5 foot run but I could clearly hear radio interference over quiet music.

Huh? You just need sheilded cables thats what thete made for. To block Rf(radio interference) You may even have a bad ground scheme or no ground scheme wich many timrs goes hand in. Balanced audio cables are only 1000000 times better tha unbalanced. Unbalanced cables are consumer level. Just get sheilded balanced canles problem solved.

You can't solve the problem with changing the cables, these are designed to be driven by a balanced pre-amp, like the TEAC UD-301, so if you don't have a pre-amp or DAC with a balanced output, you will never get the most out of your LSRs. If you have an unbalanced pre-amp, then using balanced cables will do nothing for you, you're just wasting your money. I'd look for a DAC that has XLR out, as XLR or TRS is the way these speakers are designed for use.
