I've owned a pair of these JBL LSR305s for almost 6 months now and I am in love with them. My audio interface is the popular Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. These monitors are so great for the price. I previously owned a pair of Alesis MK II passive monitors and those were great too, I just did not have the money to buy a nice/decent amp to drive them (I used a cheap $25 amp from Amazon). My only pet peeve with these JBLs is that they tend to hum (or maybe it could be a hiss) while they are turned on. This could completely be a mistake in my setup though. I noticed that the hiss is very faint and not noticeable once anything starts playing. However, I do notice it when the speakers are powered on with no signal going through them. I have the volume/gain on these under 50%.
Can anyone offer their opinion to help eliminate the hissing I am getting?
