NotThatCoolThe 305s are actually better speakers. They just need a sub. Even the 8 inch driver of the 308 doesn't deliver the bass response of a sub.

NotThatCoolAbsolutely love my 305's! Depending on what room you're using them in, 308 can easily be too big. And I agree with Ofenlicht - I rather buy a JBL sub for perfect LF response and control!

NotThatCoolI've been using the 305s with the 310s sub as studio monitors and was pretty happy. However, I had some 'kick' envy when listening to my friends M-Audio BX8 so I decided to try the 308's. It was disappointing due to the fact that the 310s sub does not have an adjustable crossover, 80Hz or nothing... dang. If I could drop it to 50hz-60Hz I think it would be a better match. I use a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 DAC which sounds excellent by the way, but only 2 balanced outputs, otherwise I would hook up both speakers and the sub to the DAC.
