I bought one of these last year to bring along for a camping trip with a big group. It's a nice, simple wireless speaker that can be set up effortlessly with a bluetooth connection. All of the controls are located on a dial on one side. You can use the JBL Audio app that's on the IOS store and Google Play store to control the sound and lights from your phone, even more so than what is available on the control dial. It was fairly easy to share music choices between the few phones that we had connected to it. The lights are bright and can some fun and life to the area, but are also used to display the current battery life when you turn on the device at the beginning as well as the volume level when you adjust it.
Sadly, I don't have a damn clue on how to describe sound in an educative way like you can see people describe headphones on here with other drops, but I'll try my best to.
The Pulse tends to sound deeper than normal, like it forces a deeper tone into the music. Lows are low, low enough to rumble a table a bit a higher volume, but it doesn't cause the music being played to sound distorted. Highs and mids sound pleasant, but lower than what I normally hear when I'm wearing ATX K7XXs. It still sounds great for a bluetooth speaker. I tried a number of other units the day I bought it at Best Buy. Bose, Beats by Dre (lol) UE, Sony and iHome had a number of speakers on display. To me, this one sounded the best and I don't regret the purchase at all. If anyone is considering purchasing one, I would try to go to a store that has them on display and compare before committing, but if someone is in the market for a wireless speaker, I don't think they can go wrong with this one at Massdrop's price.
Hopefully this helps some of you guys out.
