merfuxmI don't know why Massdrop did this, but they got rid of showing the shipping on the product page. now you have to click into the Join Drop page to see the shipping. This is a giant step backwards and now I find myself not looking further into products because I can't see the shipping. What a really really dumb business decision. It irritates me when business people get in the way of a good user experience. They think they are so smart, possibly trying to track click-throughs, but in the end people will be less inclined to join a drop because they can't see the shipping, and hence the full cost, up front. Hire some good UX people Massdrop and listen to them.

plexusYou can join drop to see shipping and cancel if the shipping is too much.

plexusOr at the very least, do as most websites do and add a "click here for shipping quote" for obviously heavier items that would have more expensive shipping (i.e. like the 2p inflatable kayak currently dropping). For small items it makes zero sense not to show shipping costs on the same page as the drop price...in my mind, it's kind of like hiding the true "savings" of a drop when you click that Join button only to find out shipping for that item makes it much less of a great deal.
