JH IEMs are excellent but hard to recommend in universal form. They are massive and extremely fit dependent. Unlike most bigger IEMs where at worst, you can just jam it in until you get a seal, these require you to fit them at a specific angle. For some with smaller ears, this is near impossible and for others, it will require at least some tip rolling and adjustments every time. I've spent years with my JH-AK Laylas and still struggle with it. This is why so many people have the impression that JH IEMs especially the bigger ones (Layla, Roxanne, Angie, etc.) sound veiled or muffled. Most are using the Astell and Kern UIEM version and probably never got them to fit properly. I've never heard anyone complain about the CIEM version. JH's own universal line does it better than the AK versions but still suffer from the same issue. JH also like to go a bit wild with the tuning; The full-bodied JH house sound is always present but the signature can be very diverse. The Layla and Roxanne for example, uses the same driver and crossover config but sound very different. If you're considering buying these, I recommend sampling them first to ensure you can get them to fit properly and the signature is to your liking. Don't worry about missing out here; This deal is pretty meh and JH has similar discounts year-round.

ccm220Completely agree. I auditioned the full line extensively for many hours over the course of several weeks. I went in wanting to make a purchase but ultimately found the house sound wanting in so many ways. Very mids-centric, veiled and muffled, with the exception of the Lola’s, which are detail beasts but also overly bright and in some cases painfully sibilant. Not impressed at all. May sound better with proper (very strong) amplification. Highly recommend people audition these personally before buying. They will not be for everyone.

ccm220they've addressed the size issue and reduced it by 30% (if i recall correctly) for the Roxanne AION to be released later this year. i guess there's a reason why they're liquidating their stock here

DicloneusYes, the Layla is getting an Aion version as well partnered with AK but as with anything I'll believe it when I've tried it. As I mentioned, the biggest issue with the universal line is not the size but rather how difficult it is to get the optimal fit; The size just adds to that issue. I also don't like how they've opt'd for a new proprietary connector that looks even less accessible for cable makers than the previous 4-pin one.
