Hi guys,
Micro Hatchets clearly were not a thing here, but we thought it was worth a try. This is a handmade piece of tool steel, made one at a time in the USA. These sell out at full price most places in minutes. Some days it may not be because of the design as much as the maker and the following they've cultivated over years of making high quality and highly desirable items.
We are always looking to expand the offerings here at Massdrop to introduce people to new things that they may not have seen before and making them available to the community. Sometimes that means we showcase something that doesn't appeal to everyone or anyone here.
However, based on the feedback here and the fact that only one person has joined the drop, this is something of the latter. So I am going to close this drop and make room for something else.

Looking over the knife maker's gallery on his website, it's clear he hasn't spent much time in the outdoors. All tacticool style, no practical use. This "hatchet" is worse than useless, insomuch as not only is it useless, but you will expend energy/calories carrying it around your neck.

Yknow, someone, somewhere requested this drop, and even more people have supported it for it to be here.
Unless this is a really elaborate joke by the folks over at Massderp.

Name me one thing this is good for other than getting yourself into trouble with police and I'll consider forking over a tenner.

Unless you can chop logs with this thing, it ain't a hatchet.

To be clear, I have a very high respect for the craftsmanship that goes into custom pieces like this. And I acknowledge that an expert's touch justifies a premium.
I'm just baffled in terms of usability. . .

Don't forget these hatchets are forged between the thighs of Hattori Hanzo's virgin daughter. Worth every penny !

It's interesting as novelty knife, but the price has me confused. First, the things are tiny. I'd be interested to see someone using these. And while they're more or less good looking, I wouldn't call it an art knife. Also, the material isn't particularly expensive. If anyone has any insight on these, I'd love to hear it.
