Hi everyone, We’d like to offer our apologies for the lackluster experience with this run and thank all of you so much for your patience regarding delays we’re experiencing in getting these trays shipped. We were hoping to get these shipped to your doors in April as initially expected, however, we ran into a few issues that inevitably led to where we are now, which we’ve detailed below. Hopefully, this sheds more light on where we are now and what happens next.  JTK produced the trays on time, as promised, however, when we placed the order, they did not have the prerequisite wholesale export documentation in order to ship it to our New Jersey warehouse. As a result, we needed to ship directly to customers from a warehouse in China. In pre-COVID days, the costs of this were in the neighborhood of $3/package. In the post-COVID world, the quotes we are seeing are for $45/package with significant delays and shipping times. This is due to the fact that a large amount of consumer parcel shipments are carried on passenger aircraft that are no longer flying between China and the USA. We've now arranged for an ocean liner to bring the trays to our warehouse in New Jersey.  We greatly apologize for the inconvenience with this run. As a token of our appreciation for your patience, we’ve given everyone a $20 credit in their account. The bulk shipment is scheduled to arrive at our New Jersey warehouse in mid-July, and at that time we’ll ship everyone’s orders out. Once we have a better idea of when these trays will ship, we’ll be sure to reach out with this information. If you no longer want your trays, this run is open for cancellations via your Transactions page (www.drop.com/transactions).  If you decide to cancel, you will still get to keep your $20 credit. Thank you so much for bearing with us thus far. We look forward to getting these into your hands as soon as we can.

SpencerLThis really doesn't make sense. In late April, you said that the trays had arrived at the warehouse mislabeled. So, that wasn't true? And we've seen that some buyers have already received their orders. How is that possible if the product hasn't even arrived at the warehouse yet?! I understand that delays happen, especially in the current environment, but the communication during this group buy has been beyond unprofessional.

SigilThe mislabeling was also an issue, and it took a couple of weeks to relabel everything. But after it was all relabelled, we then ran into massive shipping constraints. The chinese warehouse was able to ship some orders out, but the quantities they could find space for was absurdly low (118 orders shipped out over a 10-day period). At that rate, for 1000 orders to ship, it would take over 3 months. The reason for this is that each day only so much space is available for consumer packages on the 2% of passenger airplanes still flying back and forth from China to the USA. And, not a surprise, other companies are also trying to jam their packages into that space as well. Getting everything onto a boat that has space, and handling it from our New Jersey warehouse is by far the best option, despite the fact that it'll take 4+ weeks to get here. This situation is a perfect storm of not having worked with the vendor before (labelling and export documentation problems), combined with COVID issues affecting worldwide freight, combined with the type of product (it's big/bulky, and super inexpensive).

KevinI see, I didn't realize that you were originally using a warehouse in China. That makes more sense, thanks for the clarification.

KevinThanks a lot for communicating back, Kevin. What makes people mad about these delays is not delays per se, but lack of transparency and communication. Most companies fails to recognize or deliver that. Your feedback means a whole lot, thank you!
