4/24 Update:
Getting a lot of people tagging me and asking me where their orders is. I've checked in with our Logistics team and have been informed that the trays have arrived to our warehouse not properly labeled. They will need to be repackaged correctly before shipping to you guys. This hopefully will be finished by the end of next week (considering how many people joined the GB) - thanks for your patience guys!
Hi everyone,
We’d like to offer our apologies for the lackluster experience with this run and thank all of you so much for your patience regarding delays we’re experiencing in getting these trays shipped. We were hoping to get these shipped to your doors in April as initially expected, however, we ran into a few issues that inevitably led to where we are now, which we’ve detailed below. Hopefully, this sheds more light on where we are now and what happens next.
JTK produced the trays on time, as promised, however, when we placed the order, they did not have the prerequisite wholesale export documentation in order to ship it to our New Jersey warehouse. As a result, we needed to ship directly to customers from a warehouse in China. In pre-COVID days, the costs of this were in the neighborhood of $3/package. In the post-COVID world, the quotes we are seeing are for $45/package with significant delays and shipping times. This is due to the fact that a large amount of consumer parcel shipments are carried on passenger aircraft that are no longer flying between China and the USA. We've now arranged for an ocean liner to bring the trays to our warehouse in New Jersey.
We greatly apologize for the inconvenience with this run. As a token of our appreciation for your patience, we’ve given everyone a $20 credit in their account. The bulk shipment is scheduled to arrive at our New Jersey warehouse in mid-July, and at that time we’ll ship everyone’s orders out. Once we have a better idea of when these trays will ship, we’ll be sure to reach out with this information.
If you no longer want your trays, this run is open for cancellations via your Transactions page (www.drop.com/transactions). If you decide to cancel, you will still get to keep your $20 credit. Thank you so much for bearing with us thus far. We look forward to getting these into your hands as soon as we can.
Happy Friday everyone!
I'm excited to introduce the availability of the new JTK Max trays in this drop. This is the first opportunity for people to purchase these new products outside of China!
The Max size are ideal to fit SA keycap sets (which have been a resounding desire in the community for a while now), however they have been tested with MT3 as well. Because these trays have been designed specifically for the tolerances of JTK profile sets - HSA, CA, the tolerance and tightness of the rows may be a little tight for other sets. Each manufacturer makes keycaps of various thickness and shape, so the trays may not be 100% suitable for all keycaps. However having the trays hold keycaps tight rather than loose will avoid the caps sliding around and knocking with each other.
SP SA keycaps fit snug and perfectly in the max sie, however MT3 - on some rows, do not sit flush. I've attached some images where the keycaps sit somewhat diagonally, but the lid still closes perfectly.

I've been informed from JTK that the same problem happens with DSA as well, due to the large surface area of the keycap. They can still be stored, just at a slope.
Shipping cost for these trays will be slightly higher compared to most other drops, due to the product's dimensions and necessity to pack them well during shipment. If you have any questions, please tag me and ask away!
The description says "Made from durable polycarbonate" but then you say it needs extra packing. So I wasn't sure what the actual plastic is like.
"I would imagine any plastic would crack or dent if dropped at a 1 meter height."
There is so many different types of plastics. Pelican cases are plastic and those are quite tanky.
Haha Drop thinks they're being sneaky... charging $20 for 1 standard tray when literally every other vendor sells them in pairs, usually for around for $30. The page itself even contradicts itself and says the Standards are $15 each. Tsk tsk. Get your trays elsewhere, folks
cmander7688Yeah it’s actually ridiculous how the product page says $5 less than they’re actually selling them for. Very misleading. Disappointed but not surprised
The listing shows the standard size shipping out with only 1 tray, but if you check the item listing literally on any other site that carries them and it shows them shipping out as a bundle of 2 per standard order. Does the standard come with 2 trays?
@SpencerL I think its understandable with the current environment there would be delays, but one of the best things any vendor can do is communicate and update. If the last update was 2 weeks ago, would be nice to get another update. even if its as simple as they are still sorting at the factory and no eta on shipping out. Peace.
