Technical Sunglasses for Long Rides

Designed for free rides and endurance runs, the Armor sunglasses come from Julbo: a French company that’s been making athletic eyewear for more than 125 years. These sunglasses provide comfort and security on technical terrains, with a wraparound design that creates a wide field of vision for better clarity while riding. The lightweight, aerodynamic frame minimizes wind resistance on quick downhills, while large curved temples keep the glasses firmly in place when things get rough and offer protection from side light glares. The nose pads are coated with a shock-absorbing rubber that prevents the frame from bouncing or being lifted up by the wind.

Note: At checkout, choose the matte black/gray frame with Spectron 3 lenses, the matte blue/green or matte blue/red frames with Spectron 3CF lenses, the matte blue/blue frame with polarized Spectron 3CF lenses (+ $10), or the matte blue/yellow or matte black/red frame with Zebra photochromic  or Zebra Light photochromic lenses (+ $20).

Julbo Armor Sunglasses

About Julbo

Named after its founder, Jules Baud, Julbo has its roots in the Jura region of France, dating all the way back to 1888. Baud started out designing optical eyewear, and at the request of crystal hunters braving the mountains of Chamonix, began making protective sunglasses for the most extreme conditions. In the 1950s, the company revolutionized the market with the Vermont glacier sunglasses, built for mountaineers conquering the highest peaks in the world. And that’s exactly where Julbo tested its products—on 8,000ers like K2, Gasherbrum II, Broad Peak, and Nanga Parbat, among others. In the ‘90s and early aughts, Julbo expanded its line to include a wide range of sports and terrains, and today it even makes eyewear for children.
