From Julbo, a French company that’s been making mountain eye protection for more than 125 years, the men’s Tamang and women’s Breeze sunglasses are great for mountain biking, climbing, cross-country skiing, trail running, and more. Both have lightweight, aerodynamic frames that minimize wind resistance on quick downhills, along with large curved temples that keep the glasses firmly in place when things get rough. Lined with gripping sections, the side arms are designed to flex in every direction, providing a secure hold when worn with a helmet, a beanie, or alone. The Tamang sunglasses feature integrated side shields that block glare and prevent distractions, along with built-in cord attachment holes, so you won’t lose them if they fall off. The Breeze sunglasses have an aerated structure that prevents fogging and a 3D nose piece for a personalized fit.
Note: At checkout, choose the men’s Tamang sunglasses with Spectron 4 lenses (base price), or the women’s Breeze sunglasses with 3CF lenses (+ $20) or Zebra Light lenses (+ $50). This drop has limited quantities available.
Named after its founder, Jules Baud, Julbo has its roots in the Jura region of France, dating all the way back to 1888. Baud started out designing optical eyewear, and at the request of crystal hunters braving the mountains of Chamonix, began making protective sunglasses for the most extreme conditions. In the 1950s, the company revolutionized the market with the Vermont glacier sunglasses, built for mountaineers conquering the highest peaks in the world. And that’s exactly where Julbo tested its products—on 8,000ers like K2, Gasherbrum II, Broad Peak, and Nanga Parbat, among others. In the ‘90s and early aughts, Julbo expanded its line to include a wide range of sports and terrains, and today it even makes eyewear for children.
