At the heart of the Bauhaus Movement is simplicity, geometry, and functionality. It’s with these guiding principles that Max Bill—a student of the movement himself—designed one of the most iconic Bauhaus timepieces of all time Read More
Man, I really cannot rationalize the purchase, but damn I love the black faced version with the metal band.
I need to seek counseling before I do something I'll regret later.
Sad to read about the cover being so easy to scratch, but aesthetically, wow!
Uniform fonts, numbers, and even the pushers maintain the same aesthetic!
It's so impossibly rare to see such uniformity and careful integration of design, even from brands which have enormous funds at their disposal. From Japan to Germany, this is a really rare looking piece.
Fyi the guys who keep talking about buying from amazon if anything happens to your watch after 30 return period and it goes to assuran i know someone who works for them as we say in Brooklyn forgetaboutit
Almost pulled the trigger on one of these but realized just in time those things on the side we’re just pushers, and not really the duel-helium release valves I was looking for—very deceptive photography!
Overview: "Note: At checkout, you'll have your choice of five different options."... goes on to list six style options, where naturally the one I would have chosen is out of stock (4003.48.M). Ignoring the strap it comes on, one could argue the 4502.00 is identical and would do the trick as an alternate option to the 4003.48.M, and I would have to concede.
[What follows is my personal opinion/taste, not a watch critic review]
Unlike on the 4601.00, I find they did well having the black day/date to match the black dial on the 4501.01 and 4500.45M, but the numerals and minute markers are too chunky for my taste: they're not as refined as those on the 4003.48.M and fail to grab at my heart the same way. A white day/date function would make the 4003.48.M / 4502.00 dial perfect, and that's the one thing that annoys me about this watch; if they can do it for the chunky black dials, why stop at the date on the white dials? I mean, it's not like they would be copying anybody... oh crap!
Redemption from the Orient sun and moon debacle achieved. I'm with @lassetjus. I’ve had the black face metal band carted up for some time. It’s not an EDC so I’m not worried about the scratches on the crystal, I have my SARX or other options for that. But this is price point (w/ the extra complications) Is competitive. However, I agree that I’ve seen better pricing on the more more minimalist piece’s listed. I really dig everything about this watch and it satisfies the chrono hole in my dress watch watch collection. Only one draw back, it’s a little suspect that there’s no warranty.
