Is anyone else pretty disappointed that it doesn't work with an iPhone 5 with the Apple leather case?

MigaliciousAluBolt is compatible with "open-bottom" cases. If you have a case that wraps around the bottom of iPhone then it won't be compatible. The black base-bar is spring-loaded so it flexes forward/backward as you grab and lift the iPhone up from the base. It is designed so you don't break the Lightning plug easily.
