My comfort IEM
I currently have about 12 IEMs. Some are much more expensive than this pair but I find myself picking up these more often than not. They have great bass but they don't muddle the other frequencies. It is a warm V shape sound but it doesn't bury the mids. Good imaging and soundstage, though not the best, but that is nitpicking. The reason I use them so much is because I can listen at lower volume, still get a nice impact and texture on the bass, and not miss the details in the other frequencies. I have A/B'd against many other IEMs and I find these to have a very pleasing balance that most of my other IEMs just don't reach. Recommended.

DeepSpaceusWhen I read reviews like yours, I always wonder if the reviewer even knows what they’re talking about 95% of the time.
how do you quantify what you’re saying and how can you compare the sound profile of a headphone that is completely different in shape as an iem to every other iem which is also different in physical shape than every other iem. How is that possible?

League544I gave my sound impressions using terms that most people that enjoy this hobby should understand. Because of their small size, the shape of an IEM has little to do with anything other than comfort. What matters the most is the driver(s). This IEM has a single dynamic wood driver. Other IEM have dynamic drivers made of other materials and/or have various types of balanced armatures. There are many hybrid IEMs that have combination of a dynamic driver plus one or more BAs. How these drivers are tuned makes up 90+% of the sound. There are other things like the material of the enclosure, the tube(s) through which the sounds travels, the tips, padding, and the way they fit in the ear that will affect the sound, but shape is not really one of them. As far as quantifying, you can see a frequency chart at https://crinacle.com/graphs/iems/jvc-ha-fw01/. At this site you can also see the frequency charts for hundreds of other IEMs and headphones if "quantifying" is what you think is important. Frequency charts give you an idea of how the IEM performs, but they are not the final word. Everyone's ears are different and what sounds good to me may not sound good to you even if the frequency chart is the same. There is no way for me to quantify what I say about the sound of this IEM just as there is no way for you to quantify the flavor of a taco. I can only relate what I hear and the way I feel about it. So, indeed I know what I am talking about because it is my personal experience with this particular IEM. If you don't agree with it or don't understand my impressions there is not much else I can do.

DeepSpaceusGood answer … and for the record I too find myself using these IEM's over my other more expensive one's … much like how I prefer a Cool Ranch Doritos Taco Bell to other more expensive taco options … :)

DeepSpaceusI really enjoyed your reply and it was very well written/answered my question completely. Idk wtf kind of garbage I was writing around this time period (June 13th ish to the 15th) but I almost don't even want to believe that I wrote it but clearly I did because it says I did. I haven't drank in a year, maybe I was just blitzed out of my mind from smoking, but I don't think that's the case, this is something I wouldn't even say unless I was like blackout drunk, disregard everything I said, wtf is wrong with me lol.
