Really awesome tactile switch

This is my second tactile switch, after having purchased many linear switches before it. It has a really nice bump to it, making for a great typing experience. I write a lot for work, so I feel like this switch is the most comfortable for that specific use.

A higher pitched JWK T1 with a box stem

I actually like these quite a bit! Kinda prefer the deeper sound profile of the JWK T1, but the box stem gives the switch a really tight feel. Smooth enough for me, but I'm not an expert by any means.

not for me

main reason for me not liking this is it has a very light tactile bump, it basically feels like a linear at least to me being used to snappier tactiles. YMMV. if I was looking for a light bump tactile this one does seem super smooth stock.

I wanted to build a keyboard for three different people. Of all the switches I had them try (~24 total between the brands akko and gateron), every one of them preferred these Taro switches. They all enjoyed the extra resistance when pressing (taro 67g, all others were no more than 55g).

Nice feeling switch

Similar to pandas, but not exactly

I prefer tactile switches that have some pre-bump travel (like browns). Based on the force-travel diagram I thought these would be one of those, but they feel more like pandas. I still like them and they feel more stable than pandas too. I'll probably use them for thumb-keys. If you like pandas I would give these a try. They're smooth, stable, and not too loud.

Satisfying switch

Switches have a nice tactile feel, and were a good price on sale. I was previously using Kailh Mute Jades, and these are much more consistent in feel right out of the box. The have a good sound, a mid-range thock - so can likely go either way depending on the keycaps and plate material.

Excellent tactile switches if you dont mind a bit of touch-ul

Genuinely, the stems are damn near smooth enough they don't need to be touched up, but there's a fair amount of spring ping present, so at the very least you'll want to touch up the springs. I ended up fully re-lubing mine with tribosys 3203 and they're a fantastic tactile with a med/large P-shaped bump. With its elongated stem, it's also good to use in boards with north-facing sockets without worrying about Cherry profile housing collision. Acoustically it sounds deep, but loud. I'd recommend using this on a more firm switch plate to get the most out of it.

JWick Taro - Surprising great budget tactile

Pretty good medium tactile for the price of 0.48-0.54 per switch. However, if you can get that at a good discount of around 0.33 per switch, they are fantastic. Nice tactile feel similar to that of U4Ts. Feel: Medium tactility, with a small P shaped bump. Slight pretravel/resistance before traveling the bump and a fair amount of travel distance between post bump and bottom out. Sound: more of a pop/clack than a thock. Stem wobble: Little to none compared to my batch of U4Ts bought in 2021, which have a noticable amount of play. The main issue with most switches being shipped in a bag is also reduced a bit since they are sent in batches of 35, each in their own tight fitting box.

A Smooth & Tactile Switch

Taros are an iteration of the JWK/JWICK T1 tactile switches that feature the same dustproof box stem and improved smoothness seen in the Ginger switches. They're excellent for a stock switch and extremely affordable if you have a Drop discount to throw at a set. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the Taro's tactile profile. It has nothing to do with the actual quality of the switch itself which is excellent, since I don't like the T1 either. I'm just very picky about my tactile switches.
