I think it would be the same with or similar to Kailh Bronze. I had 110 pcs of Kailh Bronze, at first I really like them. Then, I realized what the difference between a “Cheap” vs “Expensive” is. For example, I like the clicky sound and speed of this Kailh switches, but the mis-matched between the actuation point and the clicky sound just ruined my experience. After using for 2 weeks, I have noticed that issue when using Kailh bronze switches.
if you can, try some switches from Zeal PC, you will feel the difference between cheap vs expensive switches. The best and most favorite switches that I like from Zeal Pc is the Healious Orange (Silent linear) super fantastic switches.
m28mI haven't had that issue at all. The only thing I would say about them is that depending on your board (mine is hot-swap GMMK), the Kailhs don't always sit right. They are my favorite switches in general, though. Very smooth. I like Aliaz, but they are really inconsistent on the board and are very quiet.
I have new Gateron Silent Inks, which take some wearing in, but they're quiet and smooth, also. However, even those are inconsistent...have a few out of 10 that stick when pressed. What I learned from this is that the stems on those aren't stable, so they sometimes wobble out of alignment and sit in the downward position. The ink housing darkens up the lighting, as well. Due to this, I would have to consider getting a switch sticker for those, which I find rather dumb, considering how pricey they can get.
DgordonI'm assuming these are the same as the BOX pink in that they use a medium thickness click bar. White/Bronze/Pale Blue use the original thinner click bar, Navy/Jade use a thick clickbar and Pink uses a medium. So more tactile and loud than the Bronze but not as tactile/loud as Jade/Navy.
"Are these Bronze with a pink stem?"
Brief research says "kinda yeah but also not quite."
If the specific switches are stock from the original manufacture however many years ago at this point, then they're believed to be a prototype run with small enough variances outside of basic specifications that equate to a small-yet-obvious difference in feel from the Bronze switch.
If anything, their price is reasonable for the count versus other sources that claim to have stock. Without any real information on their source or anything outside of a brief video shot with a potato, it's hard to really gauge their value outside of that bomb-ass pink stem 😍
Absolutely agree on the pink not making sense. My understanding is that kailh made speed pinks back with the original batch of speed switches (way before these cool novelkey tweaks like box navy) as a color specific for a manufacturer but essentially just a speed click which they already made (just changed stem color). Then i started seeing them being sold unsoldered on AliExpress. Much later in unrelated development, novelkeys made a new box pink switch. I don't think either has any relation to each other the way that box navy and speed navies do.
FireFtwBasically Cherry uses a "click jacket" which is a piece of plastic that collides with another piece of plastic. Kailh click bar switches (BOX White, BOX Pale Blue, BOX Pink, Speed Pink, BOX Jade, BOX Navy, Speed Navy, and Bronze) use little stiff metal wires that the plastic stem flicks to generate sound and tactility. I think most people who have tried it would say it's a better way of doing things. Kailh click bar switches are broadly louder and more tactile than the Cherry alternatives. Especially the "thick clicks", Navy and Jade.
FireFtwThey're really distinctly different like Nothatso said. The Kailh pinks have a much more compressed feel to them and their click is much more distinct. Get a switch tester with both on them and you'll see the difference is pretty dramatic when they're side by side.
Sounds just like a copper, definitely clicky NOT “tactile” (at least the way the word is used in keeb cult). I cannot see why this switch was created? Specs match copper speed too? Maybe a lower pretravel distance? Was excited to see a new-ish Switch, but this just seems to be a new color with nothing to add.
