I use linear switches regularly and these are decently good. My go to's are still aquakings or novelkey creams (or the frankswitch of them together!), and these aren't AS good. They have a great sound - on the quieter side of thocky.
LED brightness gets through them very nicely (primary reason I bought them), not the quietest switch but not too loud either. Very smooth. More importantly, they've helped me discover I don't like linears at all, but that's not their fault.
Scratchy and loud when not lubed - really nice and light though, lube really makes these shine. If they were less scratchy out of the box, they'd get a 4, but now you need to work them a fair bit. Films are a must as well or they'll be wobbly after being opened.
Very smooth stock. I don't think you really need to lube these at all. I haven't noticed any spring ping or scatchiness. Factory lube seems even and consistent across all the switches in my batch and as a result they feel great to type on.
There is probably a better linear on the market for around the same price, but I still think this is a great pick if you're planning to do an RGB focused build and prefer linear over tactile.
It’s a little scratchy stock, but after lubing it with krytox 205g0 - it’s sounds soooooo GOOD!! It’s actually my first time to use a 60g bottom out switch my heaviest switch is my AkkoxTTC Princess switches and I prefer the Jellyfishes!
menchieI think the Jellyfish switches, because the top housing is clear and it has a led diffuser along with the top housing so it shines out through the top housing.. unlike the Princess switches, it has a detachable led diffuser and the top housing is clear too but it's pink and detached from the diffuser which makes the led just shine through the diffuser alone..
I like really clicky switches, like the Kailh Box Jades. That said I wanted to try something different and these fit the bill. Completely smooth travel, easy to bottom out to get a nice sound, and the clear housing makes the rgb light really pop.
It’s an ok switch, I don’t think it’s as smooth as the gateron CJs or even the aqua king. What kills it for me is the off center binding. If you run SA (or anything higher than cherry), and you hit the corner of the keycap, it’s like pushing over a wall. In that sense it behaves like a tactile switch with a sharp bump.
