will this lens be compatible with generic 52mm filters? (e.g. https://www.amazon.ca/Neewer-52MM-Lens-Filter-Kit/dp/B00SMG9FBE/ or lee's seven5 system?

samhuangThis lens does have a 52mm filter thread, so any 52mm filter should fit on it. Depending on the filter, you may have to remove the lens hood to make adjustments.

Took this image tonight on my A6000 and this lens. Note I live in a fairly populated area. 30 Second exposure time. Wonderful lens, will be keeping this thing for a long long time.

ChefOThis lens sells for $179 to $199 from legit suppliers. I saw the $130 options on eBay, shipping direct from China...guessing they could be counterfeits. Looks too good...
zombywoofI have some friends that do business in Shenzhen and Hong Kong. They've warned me to steer clear of such grey market stuff for two reasons. First is the obvious no warranty if you are buying a white box lens on ebay from someone who isn't an authroized reseller. What was more interesting to me was they allege that people raid the dumpsters of factories looking to get items that did not pass QC. For some things like shoes or handbags NBD. But for lenses, and computer items it's concerning. (my buddy and his wife run a flash memory business so they deal directly with a lot of companies over there). He also said some companies have shady managers that are underpaid or just greedy who will directly sell batches of the failed items to folks. I really believe that, knowing a lot of these places have to just eat the cost of failed items otherwise, often being subcontractors.

Why is a lens only designed for aps-c or m4/3 branded as focal length of FF when it can never be used effectively as such !

DanzmanFocal Length is a physical attribute of the lens. A lens designed for APS-C & m4/3 have a smaller image circle compared to a FF lens, however the image inside the image circle is simply a cropped version of the FF image circle, not "zoomed in" or anything. Due to varying sensor sizes, the best way to compare a lens' "zoom power" is to standardize at least one aspect of it. Therefore there is the crop factor that can be applied to compare it to a FF lens. Hope this clarifies the whole Focal length confusion.
