On a crop sensor e-mount this lens should be equivalent to an 88mm lens, which combined with the large aperture make it suited for portraits taken with a crop sensor body.
The depth of field at f/1.2 won't be as shallow as on full frame, but you should get better edge-to-edge sharpness and less vignetting from the smaller sensor capturing the center of the image circle.
