CreamytorrTo sleep in a gathered end hammock without being bent into a banana all night, you sleep on an angle. So, while lounging around in a hammock with another person either normally or even perpendicular is maybe comfortable for a time (not really), it isn't comfortable enough to sleep. Plus, as the night goes on and you are sleeping, getting out of the hammock without upending the other person when you have to get a drink, pee, or tend the fire is impossible. Getting back in would be even worse for you both.
Just trust that you only want one person per hammock when it comes time to sleep.
I bought this hammock at Cabellas on sale. I have not gone camping with it yet but I have sat on it outback. It is my first hammock and I feel extremely safe in it. The hammock does not feel cheap, and I am very satisfied with it. I am not sure if it is "light" compared to others, but overall I have no problems with mine yet.
I own one of these, purchased in the Spring of 2018 from Cabellas. The double Roo is comparable in comfort and convenience to the ENO double, with just an ounce or two difference in total system weight (hammock, straps, caribiners, etc.). The Roo packs just a little bit smaller than the ENO double. I'm 6'2", and the double size fits me far better than single person sized products. If you're interested in trying hammock camping and prefer to spend as little as possible to do so, IMHO, the Roo double is a sensible product to start with.
jlohIf you purchase this hammock, you are getting last year's model and technology.
The Kammock Roo hammock in this drop is constructed from the Lunar Wave material, which is a diamond weave ripstop material, which is a high quality material, but according to Kammock, heavier by about four ounces, and not as strong or soft.
Following is what Kammock actually states about the new Gravitas material for their hammocks in 2019.
Our Roo Double is now made with Gravitas™ our trusted, most crowd-pleasing 40D ripstop nylon. Gravitas™ is stronger, softer, and more packable than our
previous 70D ripstop nylon - and any other fabric on the market.
So it seems that both materials are high quality, but the Gravitas material is a slightly higher quality.
There is not a tremendous difference in price, ($89.00 versus $65.00, which includes the straps and carabiners) between the Kammock Roo Double with Gravitas material or the Lunar Wave material, so anyone interested may want to contemplate whether or not it is more beneficial to purchase the 2019 model with the Gravitas material directly from Kammock
Does anyone know if the specs (dimensions, materials, etc) in this drop offering are the exact same as the specs currently being sold on the manufacturer’s website?
