Why only US? What happened to Canada?
I would like to know the answer to that question as well.
@JEWbacca @mmf1 @Thisispt If you were recently checking out our other drops you may have noticed that they were for the US only. I posted this reply in the YARO2 drop but I'll paste it here as well:
"We couldn't offer free shipping on Canadian orders and with this additional cost added, after exchange, it kind of kills the deal for Canadians. We decided to keep this US only for that reason. We'll be running promo's on YARO2 in the future with different retailer that will make more sense to Canadians. Sorry to all our Canadians friends reading this, you will have deals soon!"
Not the greatest situation but I hope you now understand why we chose to limit the drop to the US. We'll be running audio promo's, like we typically do, with Canadian retailers in the near future.
Ah, thanks team! I'll keep my eyes peeled
Considering a typical retailer (with stock) in Canada is currently charging around $300 to $400 + tax for a Sub8 (at the height of the CDN value... they were going on sale for ~$190), I'm not going to hold my breath for a deal up here that would entice me to make a purchase. Hell, even when this drop was offered last time, it was available to Canadians + US$17 Shipping, which was still better than what our retailers were selling them for. Granted the White Gloss wasn't available at the time, we were promised that it will be available and now when it's finally in stock, Canadians get the shaft.
I'm looking forward for Kanto to prove me wrong, but it just doesn't sound promising to me right now and I might just as well look elsewhere for a subwoofer.
did you end up contacting kanto? judging by your reply i'm assuming they couldn't do anything
Did I email them? no, I was just responding to the reply from a few hours ago.
180USD is 234CAD (price of the drop). Cheapest I found at a retailer is Staples for $269, not too bad. But with tax, $304. So buying retail ends up costing $68 more. Not the end of the world, but a real kick in the teeth for a Canadian company to do for residents of it's own country.
Did you contact Kanto to hear their saying?
You have to pay hst/gst for goods ship to Canada, plus higher shipping cost to Canada and handling charge from Canada Post. You may end up paying more.
Kanto is a Canadian company, no shipping to Canada since it's already here. The last drop they did didn't have any shipping or tax added on to it.
I have been waiting a whole year to get this exact sub at a discount, now here it is, but only for the US!
