Very good deal, I'm tempted to get it... but keep in mind that Kanto YU6 was just released recently.
The YU6s are the same exact thing just +20 Watts per channel.
Well, there's literally 0 reviews or even impressions about YU6 at this point. I'm going to gamble and wait. The price is $389 at BestBuy and B&H, even cheaper than Augioengine A5+. Wattage means very little to the actual speaker and DAC/amp sound quality.
Keep an eye on sites like Jet.com. On tuesday I found the YU6 for $301 plus they had like a 15% off for first time purchase at jet. Point is I paid $286.40 after taxes and free shipping for them. They should be delivered tomorrow according to FedEx so I will provide impressions before this drop ends.
Thanks, for the tip! Too bad I'm not going to be a "first time purchaser" at any site lol
lol I guess I was lucky I had never shopped at Jet before.
@Zatarot The YU6 has more power, a phono preamp, improved signal detection (auto-on is quicker and more sensitive), and a threaded mounting hole. We gave them a bit more mid-range as the YU5 is pretty laid-back in that region. @Dragon13 The price on jet.com was now been corrected, they technically should not have been that price but it's cool you got them instead of the YU5. Since they're so new we'd love to hear your thoughts on them and get your impressions!
Do the YU4's share the same auto-on detection/standby/sleep mode settings you've updated in the YU6's? I know that's been a sore spot for some consumers, and as an owner of the YUMI's I'm finding myself yearning for: 1) Auto-on, and 2) Ability to turn the speakers on without the dang remote.
YU4 and YU6 have the exact same features
