Lets start off with this: yes, it is a LOT of money for a pen holder (I paid $85 for this). But as someone who owns multiple fountain pens (yes, this is a niche) that is over that price, I feel very comfortable keeping my pens in here while travelling from place to place.
I've been using it since I first got it a year and a half ago, and it still looks just as good as before. The material feels really nice (leather), and looks very professional. I've gotten a lot of comments about it solely because of it's looks when I take it out at work. The pen holder slots may be too small if you have a super thick cigar-shaped pen, but I don't really own any pens of that shape so I don't really have a problem. The case is not as long as I would have liked and sometimes it feels like I'm really pushing it to fit longer pens/pencils in here. Though I have yet to have a situation where pens I use on a daily basis do not fit in.
This will probably last me a life-time unless it's gets actually damaged.
People will be confused about the price - and I agree, it is pretty expensive for just a pen holder. Although, if you look at other leather pen holders in the fountain pens space specifically, this is actually pretty comparable (if not a bit cheaper, from what I remember when I was first looking at this).
