At less than 4 inches capped, the Liliput is already one of the most recognizable pens on the market. After all, it’s the smallest pen in the Kaweco family and one of the smallest fountain pens anywhere. And then there’s the Fireblue version. Hand-torched by Kaweco CEO Michael Gutberlet, each steel pen is truly unique, showcasing a marbled blue design that differs from one pen to the next.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of nib size: extra fine, fine, medium, broad, or double broad. You can add a Liliput Clip for an additional $6.
The life of a Fireblue Liliput begins with a machining process that requires the use of oil. Once fired, the oil takes on a life of its own, leaving a permanent imprint of its liquid past on the steel. Only after the body is torched will it be matched with a cap that complements its unique appearance.
Re-released in 2011, the Liliput was first introduced more than 100 years ago, in 1910. Thanks to its innovative design, the pen is comfortable to write with, as the cap extends the Liliput to 4.9 inches when posted on the threaded barrel. The pen comes with a standard international short cartridge, plus a stainless steel nib in the size of your choice. As an homage to the Liliput’s early 20th century roots, the pen is packed in a box reminiscent of an old-fashioned tobacco tin.
