I’m new to ‘nice’ pens. Could someone recommend a decent ‘first’ piece? Maybe in the $30-60 range... thanks in advance.

I like fine point nibs. I write on smaller note pads regularly. Also some inks seem to write more medium or broad in my Lamy while the original cartridge writes fine lines. I would recommend fine nib to start. You’ll have a better idea on your next pen if you want broader or even an extra fine possibly. Nib size is more of a personal preference so hard to say.

I picked this up last time around at $99 (this is with shipping) with a Fine nib and I don't regret the order. Note that, as is common with fountain pens, this comes with blue ink.

This gets so old: calling out MD for yet another nonexistent “deal.”
Only $109.99 for a $140 pen - really!?
Then why is it available at JetPens for $112.75, with free shipping? And available at Amazon for $101.18, with free shipping? See links below.
And, of course, with either JetPens or Amazon you get your order immediately, without waiting for the delays of the MD reshipping process.
The Supra is a nice pocket pen, but MD needs to do better research before deciding what products they can actually sell at a meaningful, and genuine, discount.
MD needs to stop insulting the intelligence of its own members/customers by claiming their prices are “deals,” when just a few moments of research will demonstrate that such a claim is neither accurate nor honest.

NovanglianI. too call MD on lousy deals. However, I am not sure when you posted this 8 weeks ago if the $109.99 was the only drop price; now there is a final price of $99.99. The links you included still works, which allows me to point out a few things:
- The Amazon link only offers a medium nib. Other nib sizes are about $10 more.
- JetPens does not offer BB size.
So with the final drop price and choice of nibs, MD is making good this time around, even though the savings are not that great but still significant, especially if you order anything other than a medium.

It is likely that if you don't live in NA this will be cheaper from the European stores. Got mine a while back from La Couronne du Comte for roughly 30AUD less than what massdrop was offering at the time.

I bought this pen last time they offered it, and it is one of the BEST MD purchases I have ever made. The pen is gorgeous, and if you like heavy, beautiful, smooth writing brass pens, this is for you - especially at this price. The Kaweco nibs are very smooth and the patina on this is beautiful.

DanielFerrerNo i don't belive it is. From memory, liliput uses size 5 and supra uses size 6. It should say on the kaweco website.
