The KBD661 stands out for a few key reasons. First is the case: Machined from solid aluminum in your choice of five colors, it’s got an aggressively slanted angle from front to back. This angle contributes to a comfy, natural feel at the keys without putting stress on the wrists and fingers. Second is the keyboard’s programmability. With QMK firmware, you can program the KBD661 however you want to focus it on your specific needs. In addition, the KBD661 ships as a kit. The drop includes the case, PCB, plate, stabilizers, and hardware, but you’ll need to solder it yourself—which can be a fun side project in and of itself. It also allows you to customize the board however you like. Though this drop doesn’t come with switches, you can add them in the Cherry MX or Gateron variety at checkout.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice from five different case colors. You can also add 70 Gateron Black, Blue, Brown, Green, or Red switches (+ $12); or 70 Cherry MX Black, Blue, Brown, or Red switches (+ $28).
