How do I get the keyboard to illuminate numbers and lower case characters? My keyboard only illuminates the uppercase characters (eg, the "?" instead of the "/"). Also, I don't see how to illuminate the front key characters like Home, PgDn, etc. It seems like the lowercase characters should be lit by default and pressing shift should light the uppercase, and Fn should do the same for the front characters. I'm probably missing something here, but don't see a setting I can change in the manual. Thanks.

BarryThere isn't a setting to do that. If you pop off a keycap you'll see that the way the LED is incorporated into the switch itself determines how the keys look.

rembrmeWell, that is just freaking weird to me. The photo earlier in the thread shows the numbers and lowercase characters backlit. I realize that was a slightly earlier model, but I use periods, commas and apostrophes quite a bit--and I'd like to see 'em!

BarryAnd I like my candles lit, even if it's not my birthday.

BarryThe LED is mounted behind the stem (the front? let's go with north of) so it's not possible to have everything lit. What you're thinking of / asking for is a bit too much, maybe look into Razors or something, they're big on the Xmas lights kinda stuff.

This is what I was expecting--all the lowercase and fn keys lit up. I popped off a key and the led is located above the switch. It looks like the earlier KBT Pure had the led mounted below the switch. That makes more sense to me since the lower case symbols and, numbers are used more frequently, plus you get the fn keys lit. I wonder why Vortex made the change? If I'd known, I'd have gone with the PBTs--oh well. You pays your money and you takes your chances. Love the MX-blues, though and I like the quality of the product. The Xmas light wonders are too over the top for me.

BarryYep, that threw me off at first. LED below the switch makes more sense to me, because then I could see the F1-12 keys light up as well as the numbers, rather than special keys that I still use quite frequently (gaming, IDE shortcuts, etc.) but still not nearly as frequently as F/# keys.

BarryI just got mine in the mail today.
What you could do, though not a permanent solution per se, is turn up the LED brightness so the lights flood the entire keyboard, including the sideprinted legends.
Like I said, not really a solution, but it's something.

sillThanks, that's what I'm doing at the moment. I figure I'll get used to it. Too bad they didn't add some kind of light piping to all the symbol keys, but maybe I can do a bit of hacking. I wonder if I could turn some of the switches upside down without ruining the keyboard? Have soldering iron and devil-may-care attitude. :)
