Is this keyboard going to come with clear switch tops like in the pictures?
The Gateron switches are clear. So If you got them, then yes
The water clear top Gateron's pictured are not like the Gateron's you can buy from Massdrop. The Gateron's that Massdrop sells have translucent tops. It would be nice if they came with the water clear tops. I've seen them as separate items from some group buys.
Actually, if you look at the units that went out to MD and livingspeedbump (and photographed throughout both), the blue switches have black bases and water clear tops. So, the way I see it, we might be in for:
Option 1: the manufacturer is using a custom gateron switch that has a black-bottom and clear top (as, purportedly, the MD unit photographed has gateron blues);
Option 2: those are cherry or knockoff black bases that were already soldered, with water-clear tops added; this really only makes sense if they're non-gateron knockoff switches that the manufacturer isn't using in this run, since sending/photographing a board with cherry switches would have been fine (whereas using a unit with a third-party switch that is neither cherry nor gateron would not have been acceptable and lead to more questions from the MD community);
Option 3: everyone gets water-clear switch tops, as pictured, since they are photographed on non-gateron bases and fit nicely on both switch types offered; or
Option 4: the manufacturer and/or MD made pretty pictures using water-clear tops and will bait-and-switch.
Given how much we didn't (and still don't know) about the board from the outset, many probably bought based on pictures alone, and that would include clear switch tops, at least for the configuration shown. MD is pretty good about disclaimers (aka xxx pictured is not included in this drop), and earlier in the thread, it was semi-confirmed by MD that gaterons will likely come with clear tops as pictured. I myself believe it will be some combination of options 2 and 4...
