It was slightly louder than I like a keyboard to be, but not irritatingly so. I shoved some insulation in there and taped the PCB and now it's practically indiscernible from any of my other quiet keyboards. The board is very flexible, which is not a negative for me, but if you like a more solid feel then this might not be for you. It has a decent weight and the adjustable feet feel stable enough to me. I don't expect they'll be breaking or anything. The scroll wheel is nice and has a nice tactile click to it. I have heard that the software leaves a bit to be desired, but I usually keep software completely stock and so I've obviously not had any issues.
The cutouts for the keys are slightly larger than my keycaps (MT3 profile), so if I look down on the keyboard from above I can see about a millimeter of the PCB in the gap. Slightly bothersome, but really not an issue unless I look at it from directly overhead. This was also sold as a "keebmonkey" board, but it's just a rebranded James Donkey, and mine actually has James Donkey printed on the case instead. I liked the advertised logo better than what came on my board, but it's not really an issue. The barebones kits are still for sale on keebmonkey.com, or jamesdonkeylab.com.
I like the layout of the board. My other 1800 layout (Leopold fc980m) doesn't have a full size 0 key, it's nice to have a full size numpad again. There's a dedicated calculator button as well, which I absolutely LOVE. No PGUP or PGDOWN keys, if that matters to you. This is my first hotswap socket board, and I gotta say, I love it. The thought of being able to swap switches without a couple hours of soldering is amazing. I have not noticed any "stability" differences between this and any of my soldered switch boards. I have not used the wireless functionality on this board past "it works", but in my 5 minutes of wireless use I didn't notice any heinous latency issues. If you are not seeking to load in custom software, and just want an easy to assemble 1800 layout keyboard, I highly recommend this one. Currently using with Boba U4T 62g and Jasmine MT3 keycaps.
This is a great introduction to gasket mounted keyboards. This board offers a completely different typing experience compared to a tray-mounted keyboard. The typing experience on this board is softer and bouncy due to the gasket mount. It is like typing on clouds. I wanted to build a board to use in the office, but I was worried about disturbing my colleagues. The solution was to use GK Gamakay Pegasus Silent Tactile switches. These switches provide an equally satisfying tactile typing experience without all the noise. I need to emphasize that these switches make the keyboard virtually silent. Finally, the visual appearance of the board is amazing due to the retro color scheme. The outer casing of the board matches perfectly with the included keycaps.
Slight differences from expectations, but still decent purchase

The branding is different from pictured.
To me the colors seem different as well, but it's not such a big deal. The cable is this...taupe-ish color, as are the accents on the side.
I really like the markings on the PCB showing what key in the standard layout is supposed to go there. Really helpful when putting it together.
No ping.
Overall good purchase for me, especially since 1800 boards are pretty scarce.
Using with DCX Solarized and the coloring works well, almost exact match.
This is a rebranded James Donkey RS2 (an older version, not the 3.0)
The build quality is fine. It's a solid plastic case, it has some heft to it.
The software is sketchy, so remapping keys is not an option.
On top of it being an zipped .exe file from a buried page on a Chinese website, the application doesn't seem to do anything, aside from show a picture of the keyboard.
Oh, and the reason I'm most upset about not being able to remap keys - It doesn't have a print screen button...
This is a Jamedonkey kb that was supposed to be rebranded, but I guess they ran out of time or didn't want to bother with it. But the price is good, features are great, and the most affordable barebones with retro styling.
