Love the look and would totally jump on it, but those cables sticking out the side ruin it.

This little extra display is excellent for status information, in game chat, etc. Edit: Removed referral link

azmlnnreThis is the non-touch version, the touch version costs the same as here but with $24 delivery. Nice job with the hidden referral link lmao.

What's the difference of getting this here vs on Keebmonkey's direct site? $5 cheaper but will I get this product 3 months later compared if I get it on the direct site?

MDuhye nvm. I just saw this ships at May 5, 2023 PT. I'd rather get this direct on their site or just like the other guy said, in alibaba/aliexpress

Does the case have any built-in mounting capabilities? None of the photos show the back of the unit.

Anyone that's looking for a right angle cable, add the word "FPV" to your search and you should get some really low profile cables. Also make sure that the cable is angled the right direction.

A note - I bought one from keebmonkey (and for less, natch), but haven't been able to get it recognized as a 1200x400 display; it's recognized as a generic monitor. I've been talking to them, but no resolution as of yet, so right now it's just a paperweight on the desk.
The 8.8 touch version can only offer display function for Mac OS, the touch function cannot be used on any Mac.

ChuckDeeI was able to get a solution (avoided 'resolution' @average_yogi :) ) - I was using an adapter to convert HDMI to USB-C and it didn't support the resolution. Make sure your adapter supports it - there's no drivers so your adapter has to just recognize it.

Really cool idea but the cable ports on the side ruin the aesthetic for me.

Well said. And I'm almost certain the difference in cost of the sockets is in the order of a few cents now - so a few extra dollars made on each 100 units. I had Pro Micro replacement modules assembled with pretty nice mid-mounted USB-C sockets that cost $0.099 per 1000.

OrangeShadowAgreed, we're on the same page. I think most folks who would be interested in this sort of product would have no problem paying a few cents or even $10 more for a C port. I mean, I'm in the habit of throwing money at high-end peripherals. It's ridiculous, but among the three mice that I regularly use, the cheapest was more expensive than this monitor. For better or worse, this is a luxury product. And people who buy luxury products don't like it when the manufacturer cuts corners. That said, my guess is that the real expense may not be the parts but rather the tooling, since these ports aren't soldered by hand. Switching ports from micro to C may require an up-front investment in tooling that the manufacturer isn't willing to cover. Which I understand. But in that case, I have to question why they're in the business of luxury peripherals in the first place. Taken together, that's just too many red flags.
