Very smooth out of the box with no ping or scratch. I opened one up and didn't see much in the way of the "factory lube" except maybe on the stem pole, but the switch honestly doesn't need it. I highly recommend these over any other stock switch I've tried, except maybe the Aqua Kings, but those are three times the price.
UPDATE:
I’ve been using these for about a week now and I haven’t noticed anything negative since I originally posted on these. They are a little light and high pitched for my personal taste, but that’s all ~preference~. I did try lubing some of them and there was barely any difference in sound or feel. It did lower the pitch slightly, but not enough for me to consider it worth the effort of lubing all of them.
TL;DR:
If you’re looking for a light, snappy linear switch or just want a linear you can get away with running stock, these are an easy recommended at a great price.
I swapped my 67g tangerine switches for these. Wanted something lighter, still linear, and blue-ish tint.
Feel: I have made no mods to these switches. They feel incredibly smooth, nice and light. Coming down from 67g to 50g, there is a noticeable difference in how easy it is to type with these switches. I haven't had a chance to try them in gaming yet, but I am excited for lighter presses.
Look: They look great under the artifact bloom set. I have the red velvet (white and red, no shine-through) and will be changing to either the Drop Skylight Horizon or Glorious' GBPT in Ocean. While there's certainly a slight blue tint to the RGB coming through, it is not anywhere near aggressive as the tangerines. With the tangies, everything is orange. Blue is orange. Green is orange. Orange is orange. With the icebergs, RGB-themed lighting profiles shine come through well. I was pleasantly surprised, actually.
Overall, very positive experience. Really happy with the outcome. Only had 3 unusable switches due to bent, unrecoverable pins out of 110.
Not as smooth as Tangies, there is definitely more wobble. Tangies feel like butter and despite the color not being what I want, I actually ended up switching back. These are still good switches and much more affordable, but didn’t suit my preferences
I used these Keebmonkey Iceberg Linear Switches to replace C³Equalz X TKC Dark Green Tangerine Switches on my Drop Alt. This change was made for aesthetic reasons since the Tangerines have a bright orange shell which does not match the theme for this particular keyboard. These switches look great so they fit that need perfectly. As far as feel, they are very solid. They are not as smooth of a linear as the Tangerines. I also prefer the 67gf of the Tangerines compared to the 55gf of these Icebergs. That said, I'm glad I purchased these and may look into lubing them at some point to help with the feel. I can certainly recommend these to anyone who likes the look and wants a budget set of linear switches.
For the price, I was satisfied with the switches. They could use a full lube job for sure but stock they were good enough. They stay in my rotation from time to time.
Some switches have some inconsistency in very minor pinging but the stock smoothness is pretty great given the price. I still recommend lightly lubing springs with whatever method ya prefer and giving a micro smidge of lube on the leaf to be safe.
Really like this switch. They are quiet and smooth. They are pretty stable too. Feel a lot like gateron yellows but the pre-lube makes a huge difference in the smooth linear feel. I do not like this particular switch for a spacebar as it feels too light but as a mech keeb fan i have several switches to choose from.
