This would be ideal for hammock camping. You hang the tarp a little higher than shown here and use the trekking poles to go into porch mode on one side of your hammock. A pretty good basic set up if you combined this with the Ultimate Hammock here for $29.99. Just my observation as a experienced hammock camper.

At 78 inches it isn't long enough to cover a hammock. You could hang it asym, but you can get good silnylon asym tarps that are lighter and cheaper.

I didn't even look at the dimensions, you're absolutely right. I stand corrected, this would not be good for hammock camping as my tarp is 144 inches long.

Could you point me at one? (Lighter, cheaper, and good for both hammock and ground shelter)? I'm going to want a tarp for Hawaii
