aaron.oYeah, I'm looking into these because they're relatively cheap and I'm not a stickler for pristine bangest-for-your-buck quality. I don't see anything on the WOW model, but reviews are mostly positive considering the Laguz and especially the Jimo. The Laguz for its warmer than average bass and the comfortable fit, and the Jimo for its dual drivers and overall sound signature. I heard a few things from Dubliz as having not as sharp highs while still offering clarity and resolution in audio. This definitely isn't an advertisement for them, just a summation from about 4-5 reviews, but considering I really like the design of the Laguz, I'll end up purchasing a pair.
However, there are definitely other much more well-known IEMs that get dropped here, honestly the Kennerton & Fischer brand presence isn't high at this moment - I definitely don't know what to truly expect. So take the other options into consideration too! It's mostly a matter of how urgent you would need IEMs.

tarnationI was thinking of picking up a few budget buds, the jbuds J6M and maybe try the Koss Plug for pretty low cost beaters and then maybe get a pair of the Shure 219s I think theyre called, tried any of those? Would anyone mind listing a few good companies for hifi headphones so far I've seen a lot of the HIFIMAN and the beyerdynamic company, any others?

aaron.oI've had the Koss Plug, and the mileage one gets is probably 60% based on how large your ears are. The foam tips are nice and snug if you have larger than average ears, but the tips start challenging those with smaller ears. They get pretty far into one's ear which apparently is supposed to help bass, but the bass still felt blunt, a bit muffled. Overall, the quality is definitely worth the money for the Plug... the biggest part be molding the tips into your ears, haha.
With companies... one of (if not) the most well-known companies for hifi is Sennheiser. Luckily, Massdrop has a collab with them in creating the Sennheiser HD6XXs - a (much cheaper) clone of the HD650s. I've been kicking myself for missing the drop. A few others are AKG and Audio Technica. I'm relatively new to finer listening, so I just stick with the more well-known brands as they're time tested and a safe pick.

YakovI don't think I'd spend more than 200$ on a pair of earbuds, and honestly I shouldn't need to. Headphones thats different. Earbuds take a beating and I've had the Bose earbuds, directly compared them to my 30$ skullcandy earbuds and its negligable. For earbuds that I'm gunna carry everyday I'd be more happy around the sub 100$ thats why its so cool to see all these companies coming out with afforable buds, becasue it's actually kinda hard to find stuff at say, Best Buy

aaron.oI forgot to say that TFZ's from massdrop are sub $100. Only compared to my $200 plus IEMs because they are as good or better

aaron.oI'm preparing for a remodeling project, and need to move as much stuff out into the garage as possible, so I'm doing a serious de-clutter sweep around the house. Things either go into boxes, or the trash. Last week I was cleaning up my desk and I threw a fuckton of earbuds in the trash. My inner dialogue went "These were great! Until the cable broke... Oh These were awesome! Until the cable broke... These were fucking fantastic! Until the cable broke.... And These? I glued them back together three times, until the cable broke" I'm back to buying the cheap Apple brand Earbuds at Walmart. They're not that great, In fact they're really crappy. I keep looking at the earbud offerings here on Massdrop, but I just can't bear the thought of another fifty dollar pair of earbuds that last a month... and then the cable breaks. These are only twenty bucks. Or Forty bucks... or Fifty Bucks... or a hundred bucks... or a hundred and ten bucks... and I'm sure they'll be fuckin' awesome. Until the cable breaks.
I don't know why I even look any more.

aaron.oYeah... It's a thing. You've got to spend $100 or more, but it's a thing. Me? I ain't spending $100 on a pair of earbuds. I actually started to buy the $50 set, but then I saw that the cables are not replaceable.
Nice try Massdrop. Next!

Beach_GuyYou know... I really fucked up! I knew I would need to replace a pair of earbuds eventually, and decided to give these Kennerton & Fischer things a try. I opted for the mid priced IEMs It was a buy that I gave a lot of thought to, and I actually got out of bed in the middle of the night, and joined the drop at the last minute. I felt confident that I had purchased a quality set of IEMs, and I anxiously awaited their arrival.
Fast Forward three weeks later, these things arrived in the mail, and I was excited to give them a listen. Holy Crap... I've had Three Dollar Earbuds that I bought at Walmart that sounded better than these "High-Quality" pieces of garbage. I thought the problem was with the radio station I was listening to on my phone, so I switched to another.... and another... and an audiobook. What a bunch of crap! I took them out of my ears... went back to my Apple earbuds... and put these Kennerton & Fischer pieces of shit back in the box they came in. Maybe some day I'll put them up for sale on eBay.... but I'll never put them back in my ears.
I swear to god.... These pieces of shit were the last things I've purchased on Massdrop. Chances are good they are the last. I have no faith in the buyers who select products for these drops any more. No trust at all.
