I would size up if you are a half-size. I wear 7.5D in AE Strands, Park Ave and 8 in sneakers (Jack Purcell's, etc). I tried on the 7 for Kent's Houston trunk show and found them much too narrow. The 8 was spot on for width and only a tad long.
