Don't know why Massdrop puts up 10 knives all at once to compete against each other. Wanted the Blur, but would rather have a ZDP-189 Delica 4. Budget won't allow me to buy 2-3 knives a week lol.

theupandcomingcoreyErrr I'd go for the blur. I preffer spidies, but ZDP-189 is a complete turn off tbh. Do you own any ZDP-189 knives already?

theupandcomingcoreyCoolio. May I ask why you like it? Specially over s30v, s35vn, elmax, d2, et. al. I'm honestly very curious.

sprk1I never said that I liked it more than those steels did I? However, I think it is a good steel when it comes to edge retention and hardness. I personally prefer the Delica over the Blur. It is lighter and it has a better lock up. The Blur's lock up has been known to fail. I personally like knives that feel like they disappear in my pocket. I also don't much care for recurve blades. To each his own. There is something for everyone when it comes to knives.

theupandcomingcoreyBad wording on my part. I mean in comparison instead of one over the others. In my limited experience with ZDP I've found the edge too easy to chip, so I left with a bad taste for that steel.
Now if you don't like the recurve blades then I agree your desicion is pretty much made for you. That being said, everytime I've seen a Blur's lock fail, it has been a counterfeit. The knife is so popular that it's copied ad nauseum

sprk1I've had no issues with ZDP chipping, but the only ZDP knives that I own are Spyderco. I don't pry with my knife, and if I cut something serious, I use a more appropriate tool than a tiny little pocket knife. I don't foresee any chipping issues while cutting paper, tape, cardboard, plastic, or while performing other light edc tasks. I know some people like to beat on their knives. I am not one of them. If I was going to be really rough on a little pocket knife and make it do tasks that a different tool would be more appropriate for, I would do it to twenty dollar CRKT or Kershaw with 8Cr13MoV rather than something spendy with s30v or ZDP-189. Once again, to each his own. Doesn't bother me if another guy wants to see if he can hammer his ZDP Endura through a 3 inch wide tree branch or pry a nail out of the wall with it, you just won't see me doing that.
