I got this on the last drop. This is a solid offering from Kershaw--I'm sure I'm with others in not being able to fully figure out how they can offer so much knife for the asking price compared to other companies that give you similar knives that cost twice or three times as much. This knife is a little small in my hand, but the fact that it allows you to experiment with the wave feature for <25 dollars would have made 1998 me super jealous when the only wave offerings at that time came from real 250 dollar emerson's. The fact that real G10 is used for the handle is pretty awesome for the price--again this would have been unbelievable when I graduated from high school. Now it's normal, standard and awesome.
Frame lock on mine travels pretty far (75%) but who cares for this price.
The blade steel is a little softer than the super stuff of today, but a good sharpener system will take care of you as long as you can get back home at the end of the day.
Tanto vs drop point: I got the tanto because I thought the extra grinding step in the manufacturing process was worth the extra couple bucks. I was wrong--I think it looks cool, but in hindsight the drop point is a better design for actual use in a knife this small. The knife is too small to use hard--you won't be prying much with this, and snap cuts utilizing the "point" where the junction of the two edges meet, are only possible with a longer tanto-7-9 inches. Really there is no benefit to the tanto in this size except for the aesthetics. It does look cool though.
These shipped pretty fast from Massdrop if that is a concern. No month long wait after the drop--just a few days, maybe a week before it was shipped.
