Is there a way to tell if the steel is 8100WM or 8100? I'm pretty new with knifes and I don't have much more than some Wengers so I don't think comparing steels is an option.

ArturThats not the steel thats the model number and should be clearly printed on the blade.
The 8100 is the standard version (the one you should get) and is made from 8Cr13MoV, 8100WM is made from cheaper 3Cr13 for walmart because things they sell are literally more cheaply made then elsewhere.
