I've owned a Knockout ( sandvik 14C28N ) for approx. 3 years now, and due to it's slim build
and generous blade, it has rarely left my pocket (all my other EDC folders are jealous).
I love that it performs like a big folder, but takes up so little real estate in the (front) pocket.
The sandvik steel is decent, but I use my knives hard and have been lusting for the elmax version since I heard they were releasing one... (I have an elmax compact custom fixed blade of my own design that is my EDC work knife and it's a beast: the impact resistance and lateral strength of elmax is impressive).
If the elmax Knockout ever comes back to Massdrop, SIGN ME UP :)

Received today! It's larger than I thought, feels about 1" longer than my Spyderco Native 5, though the specs say it's more like .6". Great looking knife, grip feels good, blade is nice and meaty, finish is subtle but nicely done. Thanks massdrop!

You made it happen! We’re excited to let you all know that the drop was successful and the order has now been placed with the vendor for the Kershaw Knockout ELMAX Blade. As soon as they are done preparing the shipment and once we receive it at our warehouse in New Jersey we will break it down into individual orders and have them on their way to each of you! Looking forward to seeing this knife in person. Just grabbed an s35vn Spyderco Native 5 from bladeforum, will be fun to play with the two steels and see how they compare.

elarson1423It's a great knife. It's a bit big though, although it's still carry-able. Be advised - the action is quite a bit stiff. Using the thumb studs to open it is quite hard and if your hands are not big enough to complete the full range of movement it might stop halfway. It gets better though, and performs admirably.

A quick update for you all! A first batch of the group's order arrived early to our warehouse today and many individual orders have already shipped out. The second batch is scheduled to arrive Monday and our team will be standing by ready to break down the shipment as soon as it comes in.
