Hmm, actually, it seems the BlackWash version has a black-oxide coating, not the same DLC coating this Black has, and I think DLC is the superior coating. In Kershaw's words, they use black oxide "mainly for appearance, though it does add some corrosion resistance" whereas for DLC they say it "display properties similar to those of a natural diamond, notably hardness, wear resistance, and reduced friction". Perhaps those properties also make it more resistant to stonewashing.
Increasingly tempted by this drop. Maybe I can swap out the screws myself, maybe take them from my Shallot...
