DOBTruckersThe Amazon and CRKT store state it is not assisted. It has the IKBS system (bearings, not a spring assist) and it flips open smoothly. I have a CRKT with the IKBS and it opens as smoothly as an assisted Kershaw but it is not assisted.

PNWNativeWell the Kershaw website says "The Scrambler opens quickly and easily with the ambidextrous flipper and SpeedSafe assisted opening.", but then what would the manufacturer know. It's their torsion spring system. From about 5/8 closed to 7/8 closed you can feel the torsion spring working. You can look at the video cutlerylover posted on YT to see how Speedsafe uses the spring to assist in opening.

PNWNativeI think I found the problem - I'm talking about the Kershaw Scrambler Folding Knife and you're talking about something else in the Kershaw Scrambler Folding Knife discussion. Now it all makes sense....
