its a good knife. bought it in the last drop. but rust spots appeared in a week and i didnt even get water on it. would exchange or warrenty but use it everyday and do much hassle
Kershaw typically uses a cheaper steel (8Cr13MoV) in their lower-end stuff which is prone to rust, even when exposed to just humidity. I try to keep my blade lightly oiled, which helps protect against the rust. Otherwise, they're pretty solid knives!
Not sure about Kershaw steel yet, just started using cryo2 a couple weeks ago. But I used cr13 on my sanrenmu while working with vegetables including water and ice for 2 years without barely any maintenance. There is absolutely no rust even the inside the handle.
I use an 8Cr13MoV in my daily driver, a Spyderco Byrd. Not only does it get wet but it gets acid from fruits and the like at lunch and I have never seen a spot of rust on it.
