GERMANS, WATCH OUT!
As I learned the hard way, these knives are illegal to carry in German jurisdiction. They are considered one-hand operated knives (§42a Absatz 1 Punkt 3 WaffG.) and are hereby illegal to carry.
Please watch out and don't carry them on public ground!
sebastiankleinI won't bother trying to import to Australia then.
Btw, if it helps any aussies out. I've found its really easy bringing folding knives in through Sydney airport. Just say you have a folding knife, and make sure its not an "assisted opening" knife and you should be golden. (for example, the spring loaded ones you get in the states, wouldn't stand a chance if you showed em). otherwise if its just one you need to use the little nub to flick with your thumb, they will just shrug and say it should be fine. I've bought a few knives from US to Sydney now and customs don't bat an eye lid.
HOWEVER, I feel customs on the inward mail side of things, are far more strict. and that is where a knife like this will get held up most of the time.
