This looks like the wonderful HHKB layout! Can anyone offer some ideas about what's different between this and the Tokyo60?

The other thing that wasn't mentioned by the other folks is this board has individual key RGB leds on the PCB, the Tokyo60 (which I have and absolutely love) only has leds on the bottom of the PCB that shine through the acrylic diffuser.

im assuming that this board has a better build quality, being gasket mounted, and probably has some foam layers in there but personally i think the tokyo60 is the better choice given thats its an all round better looking board with more colour options to choose from, and the anodization is just amazing on the tokyo60 plus its discounted at 129 atm, so with the need for some mods to make it sound better id say its still more appealing than this q60 imo

jimdandyMy Tokyo60 came with a foam (-ish) sheet that I guess could be inserted in between the circuit board, the lens if installed and the bottom plate. From my point of view, with the Kailh Navy switches, the keys are a bit loud in comparison to some of the old membrane junk I have around, but it's not a crazy loudness. And I don't hear anything I would call a "ping", just the clattering. The space bar has its own "thock" sound. I don't really understand what a gasket is supposed to do; therefore no idea whether I might want it. Sorry if this has been described elsewhere. Oops edit also looks like there may be key lighting ready to go, but I'm not sure about that.

MonetsChemistWhaaaat, your tokyo came with foam!? I'm a little jealous lol but the gasket mount is in reference to the plate itself, on the tokyo you simply have the 2 case pieces, and the top piece is what the switches mount to, which is what is considered an integrated plate, where as on the q60 the plate is not part of the case, instead it is mounted on some gaskets that are attached to the bottom part of its case, basically making the board and plate a semi free floating piece within the case, the rubber gaskets give it some flex so when you type down hard enough, you'll see that side of the board flex inwards, it can feel nicer than the stuff feeling of an integrated plate, so that's definitely something this board does better than the tokyo60, if that bit of flex is something you're looking for, personally I like it on the boards I have that are gasket mounted

jimdandyThanks for the info, very useful! Now I understand what people are talking about "gasket stuff". I hope I won't upset you when I mention I chucked the foam rectangle that came with my Tokyo60...
