If you’re a fan of minimal carry, you probably know KeySmart. If you’re a fan of not losing your keys (aren’t we all?), then you probably know Tile Read More
Better than using a regular tile and carrying around a heavy thing of keys. Pretty minimalist. Has a light and a bottle opener. I only put 3 keys on it so it works out fine for me. Helps me find my keys all the time since i have a bad habit of either leaving them in my pants which then goes into the laundry, or in my jacket, or losing them under a stack of papers on my desk. Holds a charge fairly well. Bottle opener part is also used as a loop end for holding other keys or clipping to a lanyard. Kinda inconvenient when you have to get a key out because you cant really push the key out and use it if you have something attached to the loop.
I love have the Tile on a keybar as it helps me find my keys. The only down side is that the app doesn't warn you when the battery is getting low. You just have to charge it at least once a week to make sure it will still work.
Used these to find my keys a couple times now, worked well, albeit quietly. Could be a little louder, keys are somewhat of a challenge at times to pull out, and the fastener screws work themselves loose over time/usage. Otherwise, great combo of the two products.
I like having my keys organized in this manner even though I fumble around to pry a key out to use it and it probably takes me longer than my prior keychain. The battery on this product did not live up to my expectations. It needs much more regular charging for the tile/flashlight features to function. Also, if you have more than 7 or 8 keys it would be difficult to make them fit
I really like Tile products. I have more than a dozen. I like this one very much. It works just like my other Tiles. My only complaint is that more little screws and spacers are needed. If you have old hands (mine are 76 years old) it is very difficult but not impossible to assemble. Fortunately I was upgrading from my old KeySmart which came with these extras.
Just a comment to the person who could not get more location information on a lost Tile or Key Smart Pro. These need to be connected by Bluetooth to a smartphone or tablet to track and upload locations. It is the smart phone or tablet that tracks the Tile or Key Smart Pro via the app and reports last seen location via the internet or cellular connection back to their Tile account. If you are searching for a missing Tile other customers may find it and report its location. You will get an e-mail when it is found. You can share Tiles across multiple smart phones or tablets. I can see where my wife's purse is 2000 miles away.
I'm sure this is going to be of great use for me. My only disappointment is that I had been under the impression that if I lost my keys I would be able to track where those keys were at a later time. Recently I lost my keys on a bus. Tile would show me the location that the keys left the range of my phone i.e. where they were last in my possession, but the keys would end up traveling some considerable distance from that location and Tile would not be able to provide any additional information about where the keys ended up. Somewhere that may be kilometres away from that last known location.
Interesting that everyone is saying that the battery is poor. Perhaps if I rate it later I may rate it lower.
So far it’s been what I wanted. If I were to change anything it would to be able to get the key you want to rotate a lot easie. Other than that it’s a great product
Absolutely phenomenal. Charges in ~1/2 an hour, lasts for weeks and weeks, and works amazingly. It's literally the only app I allow to
use background app refresh bc it's so damn useful. I've even used it to find my a few times. I love this Tile integration so much that I'm going to get one for my wallet now, or get a wallet integrated with Tile, too.
constantly having to recharge it, 5 times now since I received it in Feb. The white color gets super dirty, kinda difficult to use the bottle opener/certain keys
It broke within a couple of months (no longer charges). It worked OK, but personally I think the product has a few minor flaws that would make me stay away, despite it breaking.
1. Alarm on key chain is too quiet
2. It turns out that unless you move around a lot during the day, being able to track your keys on a map is not very useful (may be for some)
3. Requirement to keep phone bluetooth turned on (would be great if it also worked with WiFi)
4. Bulky design and not always the easiest to dig specific keys out (not the hardest to use, of course, but a key chain should just "work" in its basic function of containing and providing quick easy access to keys)
