Hey Mark M,
I received an email from Massdrop on Dec 19. On Dec 25 I received an email saying the drop ended. On the 28th I received an email saying we would have updated info for shipping on the 2nd. Today is the 5th. So for starters we would like Massdrop to let us know why it's taking longer to get shipping info than all the communications we've received from you so far. Additionally, I received an email, when I asked when ours would ship, saying Jan 8. Yet still no tracking info. And on top of all that, from the discussion going on here it seems as though many people have received theirs yet many haven't. We would love an explanation from Massdrop about that. Preferably without a snarky reply.

nimbusthegreatThe people talking about getting theirs and not getting theirs are from the previous drop, at least, that's what I've gathered. Seems the file that was sent to Massdrop with the shipping info was in a format that cut off the last few digits of the tracking numbers when copy and pasted. Massdrop didn't catch this until the holidays hit and...well, because it was the holidays, they weren't able to get any additional information from the vendor regarding the actual tracking numbers.
So people had pretty much no idea when their box would be arriving.
As far as I know, our drop is still on schedule and everything is fine. We'll be getting an update on shipping on the 8th or sooner.
But most of their energy regarding this has been addressed to making sure the people who ordered in the earlier December drop are receiving their products.
Tl;DR: There was an earlier drop in December and that's the people who still haven't received their boxes. The vendor sent a file which cut off the last few digits of people's tracking info, and because the holidays were so busy they haven't been able to furnish Massdrop with the correct information. The drop that ended on December 25th is still on track and will be updating with more info on the 8th, and hopefully shipping then as well.

FrancisBThis was my whole point about segregating the discussion by drops. i.e. discussion for the previous drop should be separate from the discussions for the current drop. That would *really* cut down on the confusion.

evil_andyActually. yeah, an option to allow that would be super. I think it's still nice to be able to read the old drops if you want, especially if you are on the fence about a purchase, but I'd love the ability to narrow the discussion down to the drops I'm currently in.

evil_andyHey - you're totally right and this is already on our engineering roadmap. We've got plans to fix this and other in-drop discussion issues over the next 2 months. When we first created the discussion system we weren't actively re-running drops, so it wasn't an issue back then. As we've grown and our discussions are seeing hundreds of posts, it's time to re-assess how it's structured. Stay tuned and let me know if you have any other ideas for how we can improve it.
