I got this set, and was thoroughly disappointed with it. The size of the filter is much too small for the volume of water the container holds, making it impossible to make anything but extremely weak coffee. I experimented with different grinds and different quantities of coffee, and eventually concluded that you simply couldn't put in enough grounds for a properly strong batch. So I resorted to just doing it the old-fashioned way, putting the grounds straight into the water, and then filtering at afterward. The muslin squares were handy for that, I just rubber banded one across the mouth of the jar and poured off into another container, then used the muslin to wring the remaining liquid out of the grounds. You could buy a 2qt Mason jar and some cheese cloth for under $8 and do the same thing. This is a waste of $30.
