I'm still using my Kinesis Classic (now the "Advantage") that I bought in 2001. It has worked perfectly fine on all Windows OS, from Windows 98 to Windows 10 -- though I now use a PS2-USB adapter.
I originally bought the Classic because of wrist issues associated with typing, and the switch to this keyboard was an important part of my recovery. It takes about two weeks to really get used to it, but it's worth it. It's comfortable, ergonomic, and just a great keyboard all around. It also marginally increased my typing speed (from about 55 wpm to about 58 wpm).
Plus, the build quality is, for the most part, great. My Kinesis has been my only home keyboard, and it's still going strong after 15 years of daily use. I had some key responsiveness issues around year 8, but Kinesis has awesome customer service and sent me a pdf on how to re-seat the boards. That fix has kept my Classic going for another 7 years. Only now, on year 15, do I have a problem; the top row of function keys are starting to wink out, one by one. So I've moved it to work where I don't use those keys; I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts another 15 years.
I'm very excited to hear about the V2, because upgrading those rubber keys would be a great improvement and make my next Kinesis last at least 20 years. :)
I would love to see MD partner with Kenesis like they do for headphones and get an updated advantage that removes the crappy functions keys and puts better ones on there.
Jim_Kinesis plans to release the Advantage 2 end of Q1 2016. I'd be more than tempted to participate in a drop for the V2. By the way… the functions keys got an overhaul, too:
